Today is Good Friday.
Growing up Catholic I was taught not to eat meat on Good Friday and that it was a sombre day for reflection of Jesus, his stations of the cross and his crucifixion.
I’m no longer what you would call a practising Catholic, so today was more just a day off, a time for sharing with friends.
We have a house guest staying with us for a few days so we decided we’d have a BBQ in his honour. And, at this BBQ, we did not eat fish and seafood like most Christians would be doing today.
In fact, we did things a little different.
We actually had a meat feast. Yep. We had a shit ton of lamb, steak, snags and chicken wings and lots of other food to go along with it, including a couple of super tasty deserts!.
A few of us may even have had the meat sweats!
