22.05.2016 – Day 143
Don’t Be a Cunter
Whatever you choose to call it, it’s still killing. The word “kill” is defined as “cause the death of (a person, animal, or other living thing).” “to cause the end of something”.
It’s taking life.
I know there are a few of you who have found a way to rationalise this behaviour, but I’m not sure how. Whether it’s killing a group of primary school children during story time or an elephant who is wondering about in the sun with his elephant friends so you can have your trophy picture and bragging rights, or shooting a deer who’s foraging through the forest to find food for his family, it’s still killing.
I value life. I don’t think of it as sport. I don’t think choosing to end a life is a choice I want to make (unless my own is the only other option). About the only rationale I can live with is to kill for food – but, seriously, when was the last time people ate elephant? (even if it was one bite at a time!) So I salute people like Ricky Gervais for speaking out. And, even in voicing his opinion on this serious topic, he’s still somewhat amusing in his word choice.

On that note, I urge you to not be a “cunter”.
