Someone Who Complements Rather Than Completes You

04.02.2016 – Day 35

Someone Who Complements Rather than Completes You.

on your own

We often look to others to complete us, but try as we might, this approach is doomed to fail. I think that we need to be enough on our own. We need to experience being whole before we can truly connect and commit to another. If we constantly look to others for what we need to be whole, we rob ourselves of the joy and the pride that comes from being our own biggest supporter and our own best friend and doing it four ourselves.

I think this motherly advice is spot on – it’s better to find someone who complements you rather than who completes you. For if you are still in need of completing, you might want to look insider rather than outside to find that missing piece.
