Transformation Requires New Things AND New Ways
If it’s something different you want, one thing is almost certain, you won’t get it by doing what you’ve always done.
If you want to lose weight you have to eat differently (and probably less) and you need to burn more calories and burn them more efficiently. If you want new work experience, you can’t stay in the same job, at the same company, doing the same things, with the same people. If you want fluency in another language, you can’t just keep using your mother tongue.
My rather insightful husband refers to change as a transition process where we move from doing old things in old ways, to doing old things in new ways or new things in old ways, to finally, doing new things in new ways.
It’s this final stage where all the magic happens. When you do new things in new ways, you achieve real transformation. You find a better way to accomplish your goal and here you may even redefine it and accomplish something more. This is where evolution, innovation and revolution occur.
So when you’re seeking out new opportunities and wanting to accomplish new objectives, remember, “Old ways won’t open new doors”… only new ways will.
They may even open a few windows too!
