I may have mentioned in a previous post that I’ve connected with Golden Retriever Rescue (GRR for short) here in Sydney. I want to volunteer and help out where I can because as you all know goldens have a very special place in my heart. I had been looking foreward to this morning all week. Chris and I got to take a couple of golden girls for a walk today. It was priceless. We showed up at the house of Wendy, the tireless volunteer and golden lover. Not one, not two, but five furballs came bounding to the door. They all had different personalities, each was a slightly different shade of gold, but each of them had so much love and affection to give.
Plastic bags in hand, we took two for a walk and then had a good visit with Wendy learning some training tips and talking about the potential of fostering. We played with the four that remained (one was rehomed to a lovely young couple from Bowral during our visit). It was a wonderful treat for me and I think Chris even enjoyed it too. I know he certainly enjoyed seeing the smile they brought to my face.
