Paradise found…..the Gold Coast

We had a fabulous few days on the Gold Coast at a stunning place they call Surfer’s Paradise. We stayed at the Watermark. We swam, shopped and sunbathed. We ate, drank and then tried our best to run, walk, swim and otherwise work it all off.

Our four day trip began on Canda Day and fittingly we met a few groups of very patriotic Canadians donning red and white, flags, maple leaf tattoes and singing the anthem. We made our way up Q1, and had the chance to visit the QDeck to drink in the twinkling skyline (click on the photos below for the full effect) of Surfer’s Paradise from the highest vantage point in all Australia.

I got behind the wheel for the first time here on Aussie soil….picture it – a chick, a convertible and a coastline. I couldn’t resist.

I also had the chance to meet Chris’ sister Lydia and his adorable niece, Georgia, and nephew, Henry. And Chris had the chance to meet some new friends – two stunning bikini clad blondes, a couple of the local meter maids….certainly not like any you’d see in Canada….

We cruised through the outlet mall, Tambourine Mountain and Burleigh Heads then back on Virgin Blue for a short hop back to Sydney. Gold Coast…..I’ll be back!
