Happy Birthday Baby!

January 28th is a very special day and I intend to spoil my Chris silly for our very first birthday together, physically in the same country.  Hope you’ll join me in wishing him a wonderful birthday and a spectacular year.  I won’t tell you how old, that’s up to him, but I’m still with a [...]

Happy Australia Day!

Thanks Chris for making my inaugural Australia Day so enjoyable! Australians really know how to celebrate their fair country…their love and patriotism were obvious everywhere today.  Aussie colours lined the streets, strangers were chatting with strangers, flags and balloons flapped in the wind, the harbour was overflowing with boats, planes, sky writers  and sky divers dotted the skies and smiles and [...]

A place to call home

We GOT it….we got it!   After spending several weeks scouring the web looking for places to call home, doing stealth “drive-bys”, scoping out neighbourhood after neigbourhood, attending open houses where you couldn’t move for the number of people, completing applications and patiently waiting to hear the landlord’s decision….. we found our house….and it’s the best of the [...]

Random Observations on Life in Australia

People eat alot of pork….roasts, bacon, chops, tenderloin….you name it…in fact, all meat is big here.
Round abouts seem to be a sensible system as long as everyone abides by their simple, but sensible, rule….just don’t hit anyone.
Shops close too early….except for Cellarbrations…it seems like it’s almost always open.
They have drive through bottle shops…no kidding…drive in…get [...]

Just get well soon!

My Dad is in Wiarton Hospital at the moment and we are thinking about him lots and wishing him a speedy recovery. Get well soon Pops!  We love you!

Cover Guy

Chris happened upon this today so we had to have a little play….there was no “MAC ADDICT” mag in the list, so this was as close as we could get…

Potty training….

My local potty training started almost immediately upon arrival.  I’ve noticed a few things here that are VERY different than back home and wanted to share them.  Let’s start with toilets themselves.  First they swirl in the opposite direction, but otherwise are pretty much the same as those I’m used to. There is one very [...]

Road trip!!!

With a packed trailer, a fully charged GPS and no specific destination, we started our adventure with only one decision…. we were heading south along the coast. So, off we went.
First stop….The Robs in Bowral for coffee, croissants and conversation… what a charming family…very warm, very welcoming and full of suggestions as to which route to we should take [...]

Get your back up!

A painful lesson learned.  Today I discovered that I’ve lost some important files.  So, let me reiterate the importance of backing up your files.  Back up. Back up often. Then, back up again.  I didn’t and it appears that I’ve lost my photo files for the past four, or so, years.  I guess that’s another [...]
